Over the summer, Manchester United picked up Dutch striker Robin Van Persie to boost its forward corps. However it seems that Sir Alex Ferguson's club is not content with just one of the Netherlands' top superstars.

According to ESPN, Man U is also interested in buying Wesley Sneijder during the January transfer window. The midfielder currently plays for Inter Milan of the Italian league and the club has been trying to negotiate a new deal with Sneijder. However, according to ESPN's report, Inter is interested in shopping him after negotiations went awry between the club and Sneijder.

Man U almost signed Sneijder back in 2011, but the midfielder made too many financial demands. His unhappiness with his current club makes it easier for the British side to pick him up and it seems that Portuguese player Nani would go the other way. Nani and Ferguson's relationship has been dreadful over the last few years and he has rarely started in the currently season.

Sneijder would instantly boost Man U's defense. However, it could cause problems with Van Persie. While many would expect the two countrymen to gel, the opposite is more likely. Both were a part of the dreadful Dutch side that won zero matches in the Euro Cup 2012. The team as expected to repeat its World Cup 2010 run, but instead fell apart due to a great deal of locker room drama; of which Sneijder, Van Persie, and winger Arjen Robben made up a major part. Sneijder and Van persie have been known rivals on the national side. Van Persie has been an MVP for Man U this season due to star player Wayne Rooney's early season injury. The two have since played well together, but the addition of Sneijder could upset the balance.
