The top baby names of 2012 include monikers inspired by "Fifty Shades of Grey," the British royal family, Apple computers and Twitter.

BabyCenter released its annual list of the most popular baby names given to children born this year.

The name Grey rose 20 percent in this year's rankings, likely due to the popularity of protagonist Christian Grey from the "Fifty Shades" series.

His lover Anastasia is also popular. Anastasia rose 10 percent on the list, while Ana climbed 35 spots.

Harry rose 57 percent from last year, probably inspired by Britain's Prince Harry and a member of the boy band One Direction.

Apple jumped 15 percent, and the number of boys named Mac climbed 12 percent. Siri is up 5 percent, and there are rumors of one child named Hashtag.

One woman named her poor twins Barack and Mitt. Yay, sibling rivalry. Presidents are popular, with Reagan up 46 percent. Kennedy, Carter, Lincoln and Nixon are all up as well.

Zelda, the princess perpetually in need of rescue in the popular video game series, rose 61 percent, while her hero Link is up 18 percent.

The top ten girls names for 2012 are Sophia, Emma, Olivia, Isabella, Ava, Lily, Zoe, Chloe, Mia and Madison. There's plenty of Twilight and Hollywood influence there.

The top ten boys names for 2012 are Aiden, Jackson, Ethan, Liam, Mason, Noah, Lucas, Jacob, Jayden and Jack. Four of the members of One Direction are represented, as is Twilight, and "J" names are in vogue.

Aiden is at the top of the boys' lift for the eighth year in a row.

"Part of the reason it stays number one is you can spell it in 45 different ways," said Linda Murray, global editor-in-chief for Baby Center. "Moms love it."
