"Halo 5: Guardians" has been highly anticipated to become one of the best game in the history of the "Halo" franchise and as the game nears its release date, it's developer 343 Industries does not fail to prove the game and build the fans interest.
In a recent update by JoshingtonState in Halo's official website, the game's Multiplayer Design Director Kevin Franklin together with Multiplayer designers Max Grossman and Quinn DelHoyo has provided details about the game's awaited Arena Multiplayer aspect.
As cited by the report, the Arena is the place where players can go in an all-out battle with their wits and skills. However, in order to ensure that there will be an even playing field along with top-notch battles, the game will be using the "Competitive Skill Rating" (CSR).
Through this new CSR system, players will first undergo 10 placement tests before being able to enter the arena. The players' performances on the tests will determine their ranking on the given seven ranks which include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Onyx and Champion.
Increasing a player's rank will be solely based on the number of wins even in "team-oriented" matches. However, losing a match will not drop a player's level but instead, decrease that player's progress within the placed rank.
Additionally, if there are no opponents to fight with a player's CSR, the system will then expand its search and find a player with a closer skill and ranking.
On the other hand, the game's designers also explained the new "Season" feature where players can participate on monthly time-limited events.
"When Seasons debut later this year, your CSR in certain playlists will be reset and you will play your placement matches again. You get a fresh start each month to try to prove yourself in select Seasonal Arena playlists. This gives you a chance to top your performance from last season and see how high of a rank you can achieve. Seasons will last for a month and anybody who earns a CSR in a Seasonal Playlist will earn cosmetic rewards to commemorate the Season," JoshintonState shared in the Halo update.
The designers also mentioned that in order to protect other all gamers from other players' negative behavior, they created the system to track activities such as quitting during a match, going rogue and killing teammates, idling, doing suicides repeatedly, and disconnecting frequently.
As described by Game Rant, "Halo 5: Guardians," famed for its Multiplayer gameplay, will follow Agent Locke as he tracks the famed Master Chief who betrayed their organization.
It has been previously reported that the game will be substantially bigger and longer than its predecessor. Hence, with more announcements coming, there are a lot more to expect from the game.
"Halo 5: Guardians" will be released on October 27, 2015 and will launch exclusively for Xbox One.
