Even though they're engaged now, Taylor Kinney revealed that he had a rough first meet with Lady Gaga.
When the "Chicago Fire" made an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," he revealed that he had an unlikely start with the singer when they were doing the music video for her song "You and I."
The actor recalled that time when he kissed her while filming the music video and Gaga was caught off guard. The filming was cut and the Mother Monster gave him an awkward slap, Latin Post reported.
"I remember I went up, and we're rolling, and I kissed her and she didn't expect it. They cut, and she slapped me. And then it was just awkward. And then the next take, I just did it again and then she didn't slap me. She didn't slap me then," Kinney revealed.
Kinney talked further about the shoot that started their romance. He said that both of them had a good time despite working late hours. In the end, they exchanged information and kept in touch in the coming weeks.
Thanks to their awkward first encounter, the couple is now engaged. According to Entertainment Online, although Kinney proposed to Gaga on Valentine's Day earlier this year, he said that they have not set a date for the wedding because of their busy schedules.
"We've been engaged for less than a year. So, we've been talking about whether New York or Los Angeles will be the place, and we don't have an exact date yet," Kinney said.
The couple announced their engagement two days after Kinney's proposal. Gaga showed off her big heart-shaped engagement ring while confirming that she said "Yes" to her boyfriend.
Even if Gaga is known for her out-of-this-world performances and crazy costumes, the 29-year-old singer managed to keep her relationship with Kinney private. The couple only made very few public appearances and kept details of their relationship to themselves, but Gaga couldn't help but gush about her engagement during this year's Oscars.
Although their experience on the "You and I" set had an awkward start, Kinney said that he would grab the first chance to work again with his soon-to-be-bride and looks forward to the possibility of it happening in the future.
"I met her while working with her. I don't know if we've done anything work-wise since. I wouldn't put that out of the realm of possibilities," the actor said.
