Since the announcement of the "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie was made back at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con, rumors and speculations have been endless.
However, according to Cinema Blend, Warner Bros. has released an official plot synopsis for the movie.
Warning: This article may contain possible spoilers! Readers have been warned.
In the official plot synopsis released by Warner Bros, Superman (Henry Cavill) has become a controversial figure since his fight with General Zod during the "Man of Steel." The general public has a split view on the Kyptonian. Half of the world sees him as a Superhero, while the other half sees Superman as a threat to humanity.
It seems that Batman (Ben Affleck) is one of the people who sees Superman as a threat as he witnessed the fight between Zod and Superman and lost many people close to him. Batman will be using his vast resources in an attempt to bring down the Man of Steel. Den of Geek also confirms that this version of Batman will be similar to that of Frank Miller's classic story "The Dark Knight Returns." This means that Batman will be older and has already possibly retired once from crime fighting.
As seen in the trailers, other members of the Justice League have been confirmed to make an appearance in the film. "Fast and Furious" star Gal Gadot has been chosen to portray the Amazonian princess who seems to be helping in a fight against a still unknown super villain. Other Justice League members confirmed to make an appearance include Aquaman (Jason Moma) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).
Also seen in the trailers is the supporting cast that will see time in the movie. Jeremy Irons will be playing Batman's faithful butler / father figure Alfred Pennyworth, while Amy Adams will be returning to play Lois Lane. In a surprising twist, however, Alfred will be on the pro-Superman side while Lois seems to be Anti-Superman as she gives an interview in the trailer stating that Superman is a menace to society.
Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland) will be taking the role of the super villain Lex Luthorg As fans well know, Luthor rarely does his own fighting so it is not yet known who our heroes will be fighting by the film's climax.
Currently, "Batman vs. Superman" carries a PG-13 rating and is set for initial release on March 23, 2016.
