News and rumors for "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" continue to flood the Internet as the release date for the highly anticipated movie draws near.
One such rumor that has been circulating is that one of the movie's major villains, Kylo Ren, is actually part of the Skywalker bloodline. Comic Book Resources reports that Head of Lucasfilm and executive producer Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed that the Skywalker bloodline will play a major factor in "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens."
While this does make sense since both Luke and Leia have been confirmed to be in this next movie, what does it mean for the new characters? Reality Today states that rumors have been flying that while Kylo Ren is not a Sith Lord himself, he is indeed obsessed with obtaining artifacts that were used or owned by one of the last Sith Lords, Darth Vader.
As seen in the trailer, the disfigured mask of Vader has been shown, as well as the first lightsaber of Luke, which incidentally belonged to Anakin Skywalker before he went to the Dark Side of the force. So why would Kylo Ren be so obsessed with obtaining these items?
Well, the speculation that has been going on is that Han Solo and Princess Leia actually had twin children: a boy and a girl. According to this speculation, these children ended up being Kylo Ren and Rey. As Rey was seen helping Finn a lot in the trailers, as well as piloting the Millennium Falcon, there could be merit in this theory.
While it is still uncertain if any of the new characters are related to the old cast, there are parts of the story that have started to come to light. For instance, as of the latest trailer, fans are now aware that Finn (John Boyega) will be wielding the lightsaber that once belonged to Luke and Anakin. It has also been confirmed that the first planet that is seen in the movie will not be Tatooine as originally thought, but a new planet called Jakku.
It is apparent that Disney and Lucasfilms do not want a lot of information to leak out about "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens." It seems that fans will just have to wait until December to see if all these theories actually pan out.
