Samsung Galaxy S3 owners in Canada can look forward to their long-awaited Jelly Bean update next week. Samsung Mobile Canada took to its Twitter to announce that the Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be launching starting on Monday, December 3.

"Jelly Bean starts rolling out to GALAXY S III owners over-the-air Monday. Stay tuned for more Jelly Bean announcements soon!" wrote Samsung Mobile CAN on Twitter.

There was no specific mention of which Jelly Bean build the update would be, but it is should be Android 4.1.1, seeing as how Samsung is still polishing up Android 4.1.2, and is nowhere near being done with Android 4.2.

Among the improvements that Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean will bring is a noticeable increase in performance and interface fluidity thanks to Project Butter. Jelly Bean will also introduce Google Now, Google's own Siri-like voice assistant.

Australians on Vodafone's network started receiving their Galaxy S3 update earlier this week, and other international Galaxy S3 owners can go ahead and visit YouMobile's updated list to see if their region has received Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

The only Galaxy S3 owners in the United States that have an official Jelly Bean update are those using Sprint or T-Mobile. Sprint was the first to release Android 4.1.1 for the Galaxy S3, and T-Mobile soon followed.

There is still no word on a Jelly Bean upgrade from Verizon, AT&T, or U.S. Cellular, although various leaked builds suggest that Verizon and AT&T might release Jelly Bean by the end of the year.
