This tiny little pup is the best guard dog on the planet. This French bulldog fears nothing, not even two huge bears at least 5 times its size when it comes to her territory.
The tiny-yet-fierce pup is named Jewels. She lives in Monrovia, California and clearly has no plans of leaving any time soon. In video clips captured by the owner's security cameras the 20-pound dog barks and chases two 100-pound bears back to wherever they came from.
The bears were visibly taken back by the ferocious canine, as one of the bears quickly shuffles backwards to avoid a bite from Jewels. Later another bear quickly scales the fence to get out of the yard.
"The owner said he had just installed the cameras because the bears had been damaging his property," said a WSBT anchor covering the trending story.
"It blew me away," says owner David Hernandez. "I couldn't' believe it. That she turned into a wolverine."
Jewels was given a bath and plenty of treats for her extremely good behavior.
WSBT-TV's coverage and video of brave little Jewels is going viral. It has been viewed nearly 2 million times and has been shared over 24,000 times. Frenchies and their owners everywhere must be proud. Facebook users have been leaving sweet messages, anecdotes, and photos of their own fearless pups.
User Michelle Jones says her bulldog may be the smallest of her three dogs, but it would do just the same. "I've got two 40 pound huskies but my 20 pound Frenchie would definitely be the first to attack and run off the Bears! frenchies for the win!!! Gotta love those little piggies!"
Kurt Brown added his tiny Schnauzer is just as brave. "My parents' miniature schnauzer runs bears off all the time in Colorado. Black bears are as skittish as deer."
Tyanna Green compared her French bulldog and Boxer, noting her Frenchie is first to the door to check on new visitors. "I have a frenchie and boxer and the frenchie is always the first to check who is home and let us know someone is there. Our boxer waits in the hall until her sister gives her the "all clear."
Aww Frenchies are looking like the way to go!
