Since the release of "Gran Turismo 6" in 2013, many fans have clamored for its next installment. The game was highly praised for its realistic approach on developing video game cars and many expect that the next game under the franchise will be an even better version.

Hence, with the development of "Gran Turismo" currently underway, the only way for the PlayStation 4 exclusive game to exceed expectations is if it will come to Sony's PlayStation Virtual Reality Headset aptly called PlayStation VR and Sony is just open to it.

In an interview with Eurogamer during EGX 2015, Sony Computer Entertainment's president of worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida discussed the future of "Gran Turismo," saying that he wants the game to come to Sony's VR headset.

"When Gran Turismo comes out on PS4, I'd like to see it support PlayStation VR, yeah," Yoshida told Eurogamer.

The Sony boss furthered that he believes that "Gran Turismo 7" will work fine in PlayStation VR as they have conducted multiple trials in various genres which includes racing.

PlayStation VR formerly called "Project Morpheus" is Sony's virtual reality platform scheduled to be released in 2016. Built for PS4, the visor-styled platform that can be used for multiplayer gaming brags an advance display capacity, immersive 360-degree audio experience,  highly sensitive movement and position tracking system.

According to Game Rant, the integration of PlayStation VR to the "Gran Turismo" series that boast awe-inspiring details will give the game a huge boost in the franchise especially with today's tough gaming competition where there are already a lot of players in the market.

The site mentioned that virtual reality and racing games really fit well together as many car racing games have a cockpit view. It also added that with the previous "Gran Turismo" games having the endurance racing feature "24 hour Le Mans" race, having the VR headset, combined with steering wheels and car pedals, will definitely give a realistic and thrilling car racing feeling to any gamer.

Nonetheless, the gaming news site pointed that there is one key flaw of integrating a VR support to "Gran Turismo 7." Game Rant mentioned that with the VR headset, players might miss the great visuals of the game which, in the first place, made the "Gran Turismo" franchise popular. Hence, they suggested that the game's developer, PolyPhony, needs to balance the visuals and gameplay that will be attained through PlayStation VR.

"Gran Turismo 7" is expected to be released sometime in 2016 but no official announcement has been made.
