Legendary comic book creator Stan Lee recently spoke out on who he would be siding with in the upcoming Marvel movie "Captain America: Civil War."
The 92 year-old actor / comic book creator is responsible for the creation of Iron Man and for bringing Captain America to the Avengers back in the golden age of comics, and the living legend recently told the crowd at the Edmonton Comic Expo where he stands in the internal Avengers conflict.
According to Comic Book Resources, Lee stated that he was on whichever side Captain America is on, basically because he's the best pure-heart person in the world. Lee also joked that whoever is playing Captain America (Chris Evans) is doing a beautiful job, and that he heard that Evans likes him. Lee ended his statement with a joke, stating that anyone who likes him has to be a great actor.
Comic Book confirms that the Marvel co-creator will have another of his famous cameos in the film. He also made a joke about his next cameo. Lee states that they should stop calling him for cameo appearances and start giving him supporting roles. Perhaps someone can find a role for the legendary comic creator in an upcoming Marvel film.
However, when asked if he still reads the comic continuations of the characters he has created, Lee claims that his bad eyes make it difficult for him to enjoy reading the comics. However, he does get to look at the covers of the comics at times and says that the girls portrayed on the covers are very beautiful and it makes him think he's reading "Playboy" at times, which in his mind isn't a bad thing.
Lee also goes on to answer questions about how he feels about his history with comic books and the characters he created. For those who would like to hear how he answered, the audio can be found on YouTube.
"Captain America: Civil War" will pick up the story of the Avengers shortly after the events of the "Age of Ultron" storyline. Tension between team co-founders Captain America and Tony Stark are reaching their boiling point, and most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe maybe caught in the whole fiasco. The Avengers will not only have to deal with conflicts within their group but also by outside villainous forces.
"Captain America: Civil War" is set for release on May 6, 2016.
