There are rumors that both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models will be launched before the end of 2015. Reportedly, Apple is still waiting to sell more of the current laptop models before it moves forward.
Yibada reported that the 2016 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro will most likely feature huge upgrades that will make it more popular than its predecessors. People might fully opt to avail of the next-generation laptops, causing sales of the previous models to halt. There are also talks that the new MacBooks may launch early in 2016 to maximize profits from the current versions.
The MacBook Air 2016 is said to arrive in two versions, with a 13-inch and 15-inch display respectively. It will also have an Intel Skylake-U processor, Force Touch technology, enhanced battery life, Type-C USB support and the OS X El Capitan. It may also have the Nvidia GeForce GTX 950 graphics card. It is also said to be thinner compared to its predecessor. The MacBook Pro is expected to have many similar specifications and features, but will have more RAM. Apple has yet to confirm these.
Mac Rumors wrote that Intel has provided detailed information on its future Skylake processors for laptops and desktops. The sixth-generation chips will provide improvements in the CPU, GPU and battery and these are expected to power the new MacBook devices. It is still uncertain whether Apple would release the updated models soon or wait until 2016. Skylake H-Series chips with Iris Pro graphics are expected to release early in 2016, so the new MacBook Pro might run on these.
Australia Network News revealed that the current MacBook Pro Retina is priced at $1,699 from $1,999. The laptop has a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory. The 2014 model of the 15-inch MacBook Pro also featured a lowered price. The model has a 2.5GHz Intel processor, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal memory.
Many Apple fans hoped that the two launches would be introduced at Apple’s big event held earlier in September 2015. However, these were not unveiled, giving fans a lot to speculate on the possible release date and specs. Overall, the upcoming Apple laptops seem to feature huge upgrades over its predecessors. Users may only find a few Apple devices getting updates before the holiday season.
More updates and details on the 2016 MacBook Air and Macbook Pro are expected in the coming weeks.
