Video game developer Temco Koei has announced during the recently concluded Tokyo Game Show that its long-running fighting game series "Dead or Alive" will be compatible with the PlayStation 4's PlayStation VR.

According to Game Rant, "Dead or Alive Xtreme 3" will actually be the latest in the beach volleyball game of the "Dead or Alive" series and not one versus one fighting. However, the most intriguing part of the game is not that players will be playing beautiful women playing beach volleyball, but instead that the game has been announced as fully compatible with the PlayStation VR.

While details have yet to be given out on how exactly the game will make use of the PlayStation VR, the people at Temco Koei are determined to give their fans the best experience possible. The game, however, is in its early stages of development, so this could change before the final game is released.

PlayStation Lifestyle reports that currently, the game is only set to be released in Japan and certain parts of Asia. However, producer Yosuke Hayashi reports that if the demand is high enough for the game in the western parts of the world, the studio will consider releasing the game outside of Japan.

When the game was first announced, Temco Koei began running a poll on which characters fans would like to see make an appearance in the game. The top 9 characters have been confirmed to be Marie Rose, Honoka, Kasumi, Ayane, Kokoro, Nyotengu, Hitomi, Momiji and Elena.

The "Dead or Alive" series of games have always been known for its extreme fan service for gamers. The games in their original form are one versus one fighting games, which can also go to tag team mode. While there are men combatants in the games, the women of "Dead or Alive" are what really set the game apart from most other fighting games.

Currently, the "Dead or Alive" series sports the highest women to men ratio over any other fighting game franchise. These women fighters have taken so much spotlight from the men that Temco Koei developed the spin off series "Dead or Alive Xtreme" which, as previously stated, takes the characters to the beach for some competitive volleyball.

As of right now, "Dead or Alive Xtreme 3" is set to be a PlayStation exclusive with releases for the Playstation 3, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita set for Spring 2016 release in Japan.
