Things are about to get more interesting in "Gotham" as villains are piling up and the good guys are just few and far in between.
Fans should expect that "Gotham" season 2 will be one heck of a ride. According to a report from Fox News Latino, actor J.W. Cortes said that they will be turning things upside down and shaking it up for season 2.
"We are turning everything upside down and shaking it up. It's total anarchy, total chaos," said Cortes.
In addition, the Puerto Rican actor who is playing Detective Alvarez in the series said that the next season would be everything fans hoped season 1 would be. They will be bringing in more traditional villains from the comic books rather than the police procedures that dominated season 1.
"This was the plan all along. We got sidetracked with the procedural element that I think we should never have pursued - we had to introduce a villain every episode, have them commit a crime, have Jim find them, have him confront them, have them sent to Arkham (or) whatever," said the show's leading man Ben McKenzie. "It didn't allow, literally, for any screen time to really go through a more complex journey."
In another article by Den of Geeks, season 2 of "Gotham" has been branded as the "Rise of the Villains." Like in the comic books, fans will get to see their favourite villains rise to power and fame.
The news suggested that season two will introduce Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, the ex-fiancé of Jim Gordon. In the last season, Kean teamed up with Jerome, played by actor Cameron Monaghan. He is also believed to be the future joker.
Richards expressed her gratitude in being part of the cast and being given her role. She said that it is great for her to show a kind of range, especially now that she will play as a villain. Richards also added some spoilers about what fans need to watch out for in the next season. The actress said that there will be so much death.
"[Fans] better get ready for a crazy ride. Last season was like the little tea cup ride at the fair. This season is like the huge rollercoaster at Six Flags," the actress said.
"Gotham: Rise of the Villains" is something fans of the show should definitely watch out for.
