Microsoft is really giving its Xbox consoles a big push as the holiday season nears. Now, it was the Xbox 360 that has received a major update.
As reported by the blog site Major Nelson, the Xbox 360 received a system update that shows all new features that were highlighted with the availability of 2GB cloud storage.
The blog cited that with the new update, Xbox 360 owners can now use the 2GB storage to save games that they "want to bring to Xbox One for Xbox One compatible games." This boost in the storage caters the need of gamers for more storage given the limited space the previous 512 MB can offer.
Furthermore, as mentioned by VG 24/7, since Microsoft has confirmed that Downloadable Content (DLC) games will be supported by the Xbox One backwards compatibility, this bigger Xbox 360 storage will make gamers more flexible in saving and choosing the games they wanted to play in Xbox One.
Along with this is the change in "Accept Terms of Use" wherein users can now connect their Xbox 360 to networks that requires "Terms of Use and Acceptance" that are frequent in hotels, hospitals and public places. However, Xbox Live will need to reach first a decent connection before directing the user to the Internet Explorer and log-in. The latest version of Internet explorer is required for this new update.
Getting the Xbox Live Marketplace codes has also been available with the new update, enabling Xbox 360 players to instantly redeem the code messaged to them by simply pressing "Redeem Code."
Moreover, the previously reported new activity feed that that will allow gamers to like, comment and share their friends' activities, as well as post messages, watch game videos and view screenshots, has also been included in the update.
Through the system update, it is also now available to see what your friends are doing and playing both on Xbox One and Windows 10 through the Xbox 360.
Additionally, besides being able to access movie, TV and music collections from Microsoft Movies and TV and Groove Music, users can now also see their Microsoft account balance which will be shown whenever they are looking at the details of the game or when they are surfing the marketplace.
As pointed by Major Nelson, this new update comes after recent announcements for the console were made such as the ability to view Xbox One backward compatible games in the game library and marketplace as well as the viewing what your friends are doing in Xbox One.
