Her fiancé called off their engagement via one text message weeks after they already purchased a home where she already pictured him as her husband. There could be no other woman to best give tips on mending a broken heart than Zayn Malik's ex-girlfriend, Perrie Edwards.
To all the girls whom hearts got broken, "have that little moment when you're in your room and you cry," Edwards told Cosmopolitan.com in an interview. She was answering questions about bad breakups being the theme of her band's newest song.
Edwards also advised for sticking to the girls known ritual after a bad breakup: trying out a new haircut. It will also do no harm to eat some junk food, Edwards said. "Eat some crappy food: chocolate and ice cream and popcorn," Malik's girlfriend of four years told Cosmopolitan.com Edwards went on saying that it is normal to feel like shit but "then once you pass that stage, surround yourself with positive people." And in no time at all, "you get your girlfriends, you go out, party, you enjoy life," Edwards said.
These tips may actually prove to be effective. It seemed that Edwards had already gotten to a stage when she is already ready to date someone else. According to a report from The Sun, Rixton frontman, Jake Roche, who is engaged to Edward's bandmate Jesy Nelson, is setting up a date between guitarist Charley Bagnall and Edwards. "She's great and smiling again. Maybe Charley needs to widen that smile. We're trying to set them up now," Roche told The Sun.
In early August, news broke that Malik ended his engagement with Edwards through one single text. According to a separate report from The Sun, the former member of One Direction instantly severed all contacts to Edwards afterwards.
"He ended their engagement with one text message and in the two weeks since there's been complete radio silence between them," a source told The Sun. "Who does that? She's devastated, which everyone understands but is doing her best to focus on work and to put on a brave face in public," the source said further.
The breakup happened just two months after the couple bought a house together. "This was the house where Perrie expected to marry Zayn and act as his wife for the rest of their lives. It was their dream home and he went through with the purchase only a few weeks ago," the source revealed.
Hollywood Life also reported at the time that Malik broke up with Edwards because he felt pressured being pushed to set a date for the wedding. Edwards reportedly kept asking him when are they getting married. Malik got fed up and told her off, finally revealing that he did not actually want to get married.
