He's not only an on-screen hero, he's also one off-camera.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson recently revealed his heartwarming dog-saving moves via Instagram. Let's hear the whole account from the man himself, shall we?
"We just decided to add two new members to our Johnson family. Baby French Bulldogs," he explained. "Bring them home and immediately take them outside so they can start learning how to 'handle their business and potty like big boys.'"
"I set them both down and they both take off in a full sprint and fall right into the deep end of our pool," he continued. "HOBBS immediately starts doggy paddling while BRUTUS (like a brick) sink heads first to the bottom of the pool."
I take off into a full sprint, fully clothed, dive in the pool, swim to the bottom, rescue my brick, I mean BRUTUS and bring him back to the edge of the pool," he went on. "He was a little delirious.. took a moment, threw up all the water he swallowed and looked up at me as if to say, 'Thank God you didn't have to give me mouth to mouth!' and then ran off to play with his brother."
However, in his panic, the "San Andreas" star apparently forgot to take out his cellphone from his pocket.
"While spiriting to save your puppies life, before you dive in, try and throw your cel phone to safety. Don't keep it in your pocket... like I did," he revealed in his post.
Fortunately, cellphones are replaceable. It probably won't be a big problem for the star.
A day after the incident, The Rock took to Instagram once more to update fans and followers about his new puppies.
"First I save this lil' zombie Brutus' life from drowning in the pool, now he decides to get all sick on me and having that awesome 'north/south' action coming out of both ends of his body," his post read. He, however, thanked the doctors and nurses at the animal hospital he brought Brutus to for taking care of his new pup.
Perhaps some of you may find it unusual that a dog, known to be able swimmers, would drown. Even the pro-wrestler just learned that fact himself. However, French Bulldogs are "not known for their flotation skills, being quite top-heavy," Time noted.
Looks like he didn't check this dog species' bio prior to the incident. Otherwise, he would have known that it is not advisable to let bulldogs swim or stay near a body of water.
"Bulldogs don't swim and will die fast, in a matter of seconds," Bulldogs World advised. "It's always a safe choice to use a life vest on your bulldog while you're with him swimming or near a water source."
