Earlier reports have speculated that the Secret Warriors and a new organization will be featured in the upcoming third installment of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Now, these reports were given light along with new characters and plot details with the release of the season's official synopsis.

The storyline released by Spoiler TV revealed that S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) together with Agent Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) and Mack (Henry Simmons) will be assembling a new team that will be a mix of highly-skilled agents and powered humans in order to form a stronger group that will be able to "protect the innocents."

According to the report, the new season will also see S.H.I.E.L.D., in the aftermath of their battle against wicked powerful humans, continuing their journey of looking for more powered individuals. However, they will soon stumble upon the fact that another government agency called Advanced Threat Containment Unit (ATCU) is also in the hunt for these special individuals.

"Coulson is again trying to put the pieces of his once revered organization back together while also dealing with the loss of his hand. His confidante and second in command, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), has yet to return from an impromptu vacation with ex-husband Andrew (Blair Underwood); deadly superspy Agent Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) is recovering from her traumatic torture at the hands of Grant Ward (Brett Dalton); Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) is obsessed with discovering the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge)," Spoiler TV further wrote.

Possible threats that the organization will be facing was also mentioned, specifically highlighting the spread of an alien substance called "Terrigen" that is said to wake the unnatural abilities of select individual. Moreover, S.H.I.E.L.D. will also see itself in the middle of a battle against the Hydra terrorist organization formed by ex-S.H.I.E.L.D.-agent-turned-spy Grant Ward who is seeking to bring them down.

The "unknown properties' of the alien "Kree monolith" as well as new individuals who are unable to control their powers will also be emphasized in the new S.H.I.E.L.D story.

Additionally, characters that fans should anticipate from the series were also unveiled. Season 3 will introduce characters which includes the still unnamed but "highly skilled" and "somewhat mysterious" leader of ATCU (Constance Zimmer) as well as her partner Banks (Andrew Howards), and a monstrous inhuman, Lash (Matthew Willig). Joey (Juan Pablo Raba) will also appear as an inhuman who is confused and unable to properly use his abilities.

As reported by Screen Rant, there are a lot to look forward from the upcoming series especially on the aspects of the Kree mythos, the establishment of the secret warriors that S.H.I.E.L.D. is putting together, and the threat of Hydra. A lot of revelations are also expected from the ATCU which is unknown even in the comics' universe.

Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' will premiere September 29, 2015 on ABC.
