The man bun. You have seen it. You have sat next to it. And maybe you even have it. The gorgeous and confident long hair that is swooped into a perfectly messy bun perched at the back of a man's head is the man bun. These babies are taking over Disneyland, one hunk at a time.
The super popular trend has been around for quite some time, but recently exploded after a perfectly perched man bun found itself nestled at the back of Jared Leto's head at the 2014 Golden Globes. As TODAY, reports, there is some thing quite magical about a man bun. So magical they are popping up all over the happiest place on earth.
The proof is on Instagram. An account dedicated to the man bun and all its glory has been documenting various men around the park pictured donning the magnificently tied-up mane. "Man Buns of Disneyland" was created by a college student living in Pasadena, California.
Christy Hall, said it all started when she was waiting in line for a ride. "I got the idea when I saw a great man-bun in front of me in line for the Jungle Cruise [ride at Disneyland]," Hall told TODAY. "Naturally, my first instinct was to share it so I Snapchatted it to a friend. After that, I spent my day finding man-buns and there were actually quite a lot. So I thought it would be kind of hilarious to share it with more than just friends [and] started the Instagram [account]."
The account was started six months ago and now features 254 posts and has grown to 55,900 followers.
One must wonder how is Christy able to keep a steady delivery of magnificent man buns. Hall is a season pass holder and frequents the park weekly to snap the lovely little buns women and men have come to love so much.
"It's like a scavenger hunt of sorts," said Hall on tracking down man bun after man bun at the major theme park. "And it's just another fun thing to do at Disneyland."
The 22-year old also accepts submissions of photos for a special non-Disney located man bun, to be posted specifically on Man Crush Monday or in her case, Munday.
