Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green reportedly led separate lives six months ago, but the rest of us learned of this just now.

A source told Us Weekly that the celebrity couple had decided to split up half a year ago after 11 years of togetherness. Their union, "plagued with issues," apparently was unable to weather "rocky" times and appears to go down the same path as Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's, as well as Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's - two other famous couples who have recently announced their separation.

Is summer the season for celebrity breakups?

"The 29-year-old actress and the 42-year-old former teen heartthrob - who is best known for the TV series Beverly Hills, 90210 - have two children together: Noah, aged two, and Bodhi, aged 18 months," MailOnline noted. "They were last seen together on June 9 in Beverly Hills. When stepping out in LA in July and August, the actress did not have her wedding rings on. Their representatives have yet to comment."

Reports have alleged that the demise of the relationship was fanned by the actress' "constant absence as she made film after film."

"They fight about her career," an insider reportedly said. "She was obsessed with getting roles."

"It was added that Green would have liked his much-younger spouse to spend more time at home in Los Angeles with him and their two children," the British publication added.

The brunette beauty's "independent streak" reportedly did not sit well with her hubby.

The couple first met more than a decade ago when Green appeared on "Hope and Faith," in which Fox also starred.

"They were first engaged in 2006, but called it off three years later. Green is 13 years Fox's senior," USA Today relayed. "Green re-proposed in June 2010 and 24 days later they married in a private ceremony in Hawaii."

If the couple's separation surprised some, a number of others seemed to have seen it coming, thanks to Green's appearance on the show "Flipping Out."

"Green filmed Bravo's hit reality show from November 2014 through April 2015, and all seemed fine and normal business as usual," E! News said.

"The first eyebrow-raise came when viewers realized that Fox, not once, appeared on the show with her husband," the entertainment news source continued. "Not only that, but when Lewis or Pulos asked about her, BAG seemed keep the conversation to a minimum."

A source also told E! News that, although Fox wasn't supposed to appear on the show, "you can probably draw your own conclusions as to why she didn't make an appearance."
