Ever since Frank Miller and Klaus Janson created the comic book "The Dark Knight Returns" back in 1986, fans got a glimpse of what the epic battle between the founding fathers of the Justice League would look like. Since most rumors about the plot of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" involve parts of "The Dark Knight Returns," there is a high chance that Batman will beat Superman. The question now is: "What is Lex Luthor's angle in all this?"
For those who have yet to read the comic or watch the animated movie, titled "The Dark Knight Returns," it is strongly suggested to start now. Spoiler alert, you have been warned!
According to Heroic Hollywood, Lex Luthor will commit a crime most fans consider a taboo, especially if done on Superman's mom. That's right, the rumor stated that Luthor might go and kidnap Martha Kent which is a really bad idea if fans can remember the "Man of Steel" very well.
In the movie, when General Zod and his crew threatened Kal's adoptive human mother, more than half of Smallville was in ruins. Just imagine what will happen to Metropolis if Lex Luthor holds Martha Kent hostage at Lexcorp. Actually, the trailer for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" revealed at the last Comic-Con 2015 in San Diego, California gave a quick look at the amount of destruction an angry god can create.
This theory, if proven true during the movie, will plant Jesse Eisenberg's portrayal of Superman's arch nemesis on solid ground.
If billionaire villain Lex Luthor is Clark Kent's (Henry Cavill) opposite, that would make Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) his greatest challenge, according to Forbes. The report looked at each super hero's strengths and weaknesses.
Superman has the power of flight, impervious to almost any known projectile (except for Kryptonite bullets), x-ray and heat vision, super strength, super speed and super breath (or ice breath). He is, however, susceptible to Poison Ivy's mind control, Joker's manipulation and lesser bad guys with little or no powers.
Batman is just a regular human being, with exceptional amount of money and technology to spare. He has superior human intellect and is considered as the world's greatest detective. He was trained by the league of assassins and has obtained superhuman reaction time and muscle reflexes. However, he is only human. Sure, all that training and technology could give him an edge over the Man of Steel - but the fact remains that humans bleed.
When it comes to the match up, most would think that the Dark Knight is at a great disadvantage. Frank Miller has proven fans wrong in thinking that Batman can't make Superman kneel down and bleeding.
Those who have read the comic, or watched the animated movie know that Batman won the fight against Superman. The caped crusader wore a "Bat-Suit" similar to that in the comic and animated movie. This armor helped Bruce absorb some of Clark's blows and dish out some pain with technologically enhanced super strength. With the help of old man Oliver Quinn, Superman was poisoned with a more potent dose of Kryptonite, which lead to his defeat.
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will come out on March 25, 2016.
