It is a known fact that "Wolverine 3" is in the works. Another known fact is that director James Mangold, writer Michael Green and Hugh Jackman will be working on the movie as the actor confirmed with his tweet. What fans just recently learned is that Sir Patrick Stewart will be joining Wolverine in the third instalment - and not just for a cameo.
During his interview to promote Starz TV's new series, titled Blunt Talk, Stewart confirmed his involvement with "Wolverine 3," according to Collider. He said, "I think what you say is true. There is a project in development. I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me."
The veteran actor added, "And the idea of an old Wolverine - I'm really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old. You know, damn him. He looks so great! So I'm hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he'll make me look better if that's the case." This leads fans to believe that the next Wolverine movie will revolve around the Old Man Logan arc.
According to Screen Rant, there have been many teasers about the Old Man Logan story for the next movie. Recently, during the San Diego Comic-con 2015, the writer has yet again teased as to how Jackman's final movie with the claws will play out. The report further stated that using this story arc from the comics is the best fit for Jackman as he says farewell to Wolverine.
There are many characters tied under the belt of many great actors. For Sir Patrick Stewart, many would recognize his role as the iconic captain of an iconic franchise: Star Trek. There were even some that went as far as to Photoshop a picture where Queen Elizabeth used a Klingon sword to grant Stewart the title of Knight. Other than being known as Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Sir Stewart will forever be known as Professor Charles Xavier.
Jackman, meanwhile, also has many roles that he has played over the course of his acting career. His portrayal of characters from movies such as Kate and Leopold, Australia, The Prestige, Real Steel and Les Miserables were all memorable. Despite that fact, no other role can most fans associate the name of Jackman than his portrayal of Wolverine.
Wolverine 3 will be out in cinemas March 3, 2017.
