Avid comic book fans have been clamoring about the possible appearance of the supervillain Doomsday in "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice."

The rumors behind the appearance of the creature that once killed Superman comes from the latest trailer released for the "Batman v Superman" movie. Movieplot states that the latest trailer shows Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) clashing her power bracelets together, which results in a massive energy explosion. Fans of the comics gather that one of the only characters in the DC Universe who can create that kind of reaction is the alien Doomsday.

According to Heroic Hollywood, the Amazonian Princess does indeed help the world's finest superheroes against a threat greater than nothing it faced before. The trailer shows that Wonder Woman draws her mythical sword and supposedly cuts the monster's arm right off. The article states that Doomsday is hurt but not out as the creature's entire body is made of bone blade. So even without its arm, it can still do damage to the heroine.

Doomsday's origins may also differ from those in the comic books. Rumors are circulating that Doomsday will be the result of an experiment done on the remains of General Zod by Superman's nemesis, Lex Luthor. Lex Corp, the business front for Luthor, has been shown during the trailer so this rumor may not be as far off as one would think.

"Batman v Superman" will be starring Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne / Batman and Henry Cavill will reprise his role of Superman from the "Man of Steel" movie. The story will be taking elements of Frank Miller's story of "The Dark Knight Returns" as well as elements from the "World's Finest" story arc.

It has been confirmed that Affleck will be playing an older, more cynical Dark Knight who has long been the bane of Gotham's criminals as well as a thorn in the side of the American government. Superman has been asked by the President to "deal" with Batman. In response, Batman will then pull out all the stops to defeat Superman with his famous speech of him defeating the Man of Steel already being leaked in the trailers.

It is uncertain, however, what parts of the movie will be new but the rumor of seeing the one villain who killed Superman is promising.

"Batman v. Superman; Dawn of Justice" debuts in theaters March 25, 2016.
