A second official trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5 hit the internet two days ago, courtesy of Rockstar Games, and if you're like us, you've been watching and rewatching it in order to make sense of what the game will be like. The trailer and recent reports indicate that some elements of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will indeed be making a return in the new release.
For starters, the most obvious one is that Grand Theft Auto 5 takes place in Los Santos, the fictional world of Los Angeles from San Andreas. This time around, however, the world will be huge - so massive that it's the biggest one from Rockstar Games yet. Players will be able to take hikes out into the mountains, and even scuba dive off the coast.
In addition to that, planes will be making a comeback. Planes weren't included in Grand Theft Auto, but were accessible in San Andreas. Most scenes show Trevor, one of the three playable characters, piloting the airplanes, and one even has him driving out of a freight plane in a 4X4 and then parachuting down over massive Los Santos.
The trailer also shows off a freight train scene, which could mean that the train jacking from San Andreas might be making a return.
Rapper The Game recently revealed that he had recently worked with Rockstar in an interview with Studio 96. This most likely means that B Dup from San Andreas will be somehow part of the game.
There's bound to be a few more throwbacks to San Andreas, given Rockstar's love of easter eggs, but until its spring 2013 release, it'll be hard to know what they are. Grand Theft Auto 5 is currently available for pre-ordering worldwide.
