Old Navy Black Friday shoppers who purchase $40 worth of goods at the retail store will have the opportunity to win New Super Mario Bros U and a Wii U console, as part of a nationwide promotion for Nintendo's new console.
The giveaway contest will play out like a raffle, and only 1,000 systems will be available, reports Gamerhub.tv. Site editor John Gaudiosi writes, "These stores will also have Mario-themed photo backdrops where fans can snap fun pictures with Mario and his Mushroom Kingdom friends."
Along with adding GamePad functionality, New Super Mario Bros. U can be played exclusively on the console controller's display if the TV is in use. While this sequel doesn't stray too far from its roots, the asymmetrical multiplayer that the Wii U affords this new entry in the series should keep fans and newcomers alike interested.
The Wii U launches on November 18, less than a week from today, in two flavors: Basic and Deluxe. The $299 Basic version is white and has 8GB of memory, a sensor bar, an adapter, and a HDMI cable. The $349 black Deluxe release sports 32GB of memory, and comes bundled with Nintendo Land, a Gamepad charging cradle and stands for the console and controller.
