Lil Wayne and Christina Milian have been an item for over a year, but sources recently reported that they may be cooling down or even going their separate ways. Although they previously declared their admiration for one another, it seems that their busy schedules and family drama may be the culprit, getting in the way of their relationship.
The past month has separated the couple between time zones, giving them little time to see one another amidst their work priorities. Wayne has been performing throughout the country, while Milian has been keeping busy with her latest business venture, a pop-up shop for her We Are Pop Culture store in Los Angeles. However, a little long-distance travel to spend time together may not be the only thing that is keeping the two apart.
Stress levels may be cooling down the pair's romance -- the New Orleans emcee is already in the middle of a lawsuit to sue Cash Money Records for $51 million dollars, in order to obtain his freedom from the label, and dealing with baby mama drama.
The couple is practically in-laws, due to the fact that Milian's ex, The-Dream, has three children with Wayne's ex, singer Nivea, who also has a child with Weezy. Last year, Nivea expressed her shock of the love triangle and Milian dating one of her ex's once again. "It felt crazy as hell. I'm like what the hell is wrong with you?" she told Malcolm Music.
The "Selsun Blue" rapper has not spoken publicly of his current romance with the "Dip It Low" singer. However, his rap verse from Rich Gang's track, "Take Kare," has been speculated to be about Milian and all the haters' disapproval standing in the couple's way. "They be hatin' on my girl, though / And they wish they was the b***h they hatin'," he raps. "No chaser for my girl though / She go harder than me on occasion / Gettin' wasted with my girl."
In April, Milian not only confirmed her relationship with Wayne, but she also stated her love for him during an interview with Big Boy on Los Angeles' 92.3FM show. "He's the sweetest. I love him. He's great," she said. When the radio show host even speculated that the pair already got engaged, referring to her ring on her ring finger, she denied: "It's just a sweet little gift. Just a nice gesture."
While it seems Wayne and Milian have not been sharing their love and admiration in recent weeks, they are both set to perform at Hot 100 Festival on Aug. 23. Hopefully, they will show the world once again their love for one another and finally get to spend some time together to rekindle their sweet romance.
