Casting for "Secrets and Lies" Season 2 just got a little brighter with the additions of Jordana Brewster and Charlie Barnett.
There was a sad concensus for fans after Ryan Phillipe announced that the upcoming season's storyline would not be revolving around his character. Phillipe gave some of his best performances of his career in last season, taking the leading role of Ben Crawford, who was forced to make the ultimate sacrifice for his family. Now, with the latest additions to the cast, season 2 is set to continue to impress viewers.
The last time viewers saw Phillipe, he was alive in a jail cell. While fans may be curious to know what happened in the time span of his storyline, their imagination unfortunately will have to make up for it because the answer will not be revealed. Deadline reported that the sophomore season is centered around a new crime to be uncovered, with Michael Ealy playing the lead role of Eric Warner, who is a newlywed and heir to his family's equity firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Brewster will be playing the wife of Warner and a lawyer named Kate Warner, who runs the compliance department for the firm. Her role on the show is met with demise, as she is murdered, and Eric is forced to find help from Detective Cornell (Juliette Lewis) to investigate the motive and eventually find the killer.
Barnett will be playing an analyst and the youngest son of John Warner, a businessman of the private equity firm. Eric is set to take over the management of the firm after his father retires, but the increased responsibility only leads to a slew of suspenseful twists and turns that will question his character and love for his wife.
While the Warner newlyweds seem to be in a happy marriage at first, more is sure to meet the eye as their backstories slowly unravel after the murder of Kate. Viewers will have to tune in to find out who the killer is and how Detective Cornell solves the murder mystery.
