The CW has announced its new casting for the DC Comics spinoff, "Legends of Tomorrow," tapping Falk Hentschel to play superhero Hawkman, a.k.a. Carter Hall.

Hentschel is reportedly appearing as Hawkman in crossover episodes of the "Flash" and "Arrow" before resuming in "Legends of Tomorrow." By the time Hawkman appears on "Legends of Tomorrow," fans of the two aforementioned episodes should be familiar with Hawkman's abilities and ready for the debut of his love interest, Hawkgirl.

The masked and feathered hero is a reincarnation of an Egyptian prince and gains his power through those of the Egyptian Hawk god, Horus. His supernatural abilities are out-of-this-world strength, speed and hawk-like sight.

The storyline of the show is based on a time traveler, Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), who travels to present day to compile a team of superheroes to rival against a future of destruction, caused by an immortal villain, Vandal Savage.

Hentschel's Hawkman will be more than just an incognito hero falling for a typical beautiful and unknowing civilian like in other superhero classics, but will have a love interest and partner in crime.

Hawkgirl, a.k.a. Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renee), can also gain powers through Horus. She and Hawkman together are reincarnated throughout time to be by each other's side and a winged superhero duo of love, action, and adventure.

Deadline first reported the news, and fans are eagerly awaiting for the series' premiere date in 2016. In the meantime, fans are still anticipating the reveal of any other superheroes set to be cast.

Currently, Wentworth Miller is cast as Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold, and other superheroes include White Canary and Atom. With a storyline built around the mysterious and ancient powers of Egyptian gods, like Hawkman and Hawkgirl, there is a lot of room to grow for heroes and a plethora of magic to be obtained.

Hentschel's previous credits include the TV drama "Reckless," as well as films "Knight and Day," "StreetDance 2" and "White House Down," amongst many others. Although he has played diverse roles, he has never been a superhero before, and with the love of superheroes from audiences far and wide these days, fans are bound to be watching his performance like a hawk.
