While Nintendo's Wii U has a plethora of mature titles for the hard core gamers, the company has not abandoned its most loyal fanbase over the years: the younger demography.

Vicarious Visions' Skylanders Giants is one of the lesser known titles to debut alongside Nintendo's console, but it is also one that will have numerous kids anticipating anxiously.

A followup to the surprise hit Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, the concept of the game lies in players bringing toys to life in the world of Skylands. The mission is to lead the Skylanders to victory in saving their planet.

The game introduces 16 new characters and includes numerous enemies, puzzles, treasures, and worlds to explore. The title also includes new modes including new Hero Challenges, more Battle Mode gameplay, and also cross console integration.

According to Polygon, the Wii U version will have higher texture density and screen resolution than the 3DS, PS3, Wii or Xbox 360 versions. Additionally, the GamePad's screen allows players to see their champion's stats in real time. It can also display a map and can monitor progress on the goals of the player. The GamePad is also functional for minigames. For example, while players can use regular controls and play minigames off the TV, playing them off the GamePad enables players to take full advantage of the touch screen to move around objects such as cards.

The title will launch on November 18 as a launch day title for the Wii U. The Wii U version comes with a Starter Pack that includes the game, a portal of power, three skylander toys, a character collection poster, three sticker sheets with secret codes, and trading cards. The cost of the set is upwards of $70.
