The Microsoft Surface is still fresh in the market and it hasn't made the similar numbers as what an Apple product would.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer was interviewed to be content with the numbers.

The French newspaper Le Parisien interviewed Ballmer when he states the sales numbers "are starting modestly." He added that the reason for the modest sales numbers are because the Surface tablet is only available online and in a select number of Microsoft stores across the US.

Ballmer or Microsoft did not provide the exact numbers in sales of the $499 tablet, but there were supply shortages, which the CEO considers as "a good sign."

According to Ballmer, Microsoft will fix the shortages and how the increase in capacity is part of the technology company's strategy.
