Good news for fps and "Doom" fans as new details from the upcoming "Doom 4" has been released and it seems that the game is going to be optimized for each platform it is going to be released on.
It looks like id Software wants to make "Doom 4" one of the best first person shooters for the consoles as they have confirmed that they are targeting to run the game at 1080p and 60 frames-per-second.
As reported by VG 24/7, during QuakeCon 2015, the upcoming shooter "Doom 4" was shown to the people as Bethesda revealed the multiplayer alpha of the game. Due to the fact that the game would have multiplayer, fans began asking if "Doom 4" would run at 60fps and other technical questions about the game.
According to an interview with Gamespot, Id Software Executive Producer, Marty Stratton revealed the things that are important when making a first person shooter and "Doom 4".
"When you're developing, you make thousands of decisions that have an impact on performance or visual fidelity. We've always been at the forefront of saying we want our games to run as fast as possible at the highest resolution possible," said Stratton.
Stratton then confirmed that in order for the game to run as fast as possible at the highest resolution possible, they have decided to make sure that the game would run at the much loved 1080p and 60fps combination.
"So for us, that goal is 1080p and 60 FPS. Along with that goal, the mantra of our technology team is that we want to be the best-looking game out there at 60 FPS and 1080p. So you draw that line in the sand," disclosed the executive producer.
Stratton added that these specs add something to the feel of the game. Stratton also notes that the frame-rate is very important as it is part of the game's fluidity.
"If you do your best to give [consumers] a very consistent experience and a very high-quality experience, which for us is a fast, fluid 60 FPS, I think that's the most important thing. It's when you cut corners and you end up with a game that doesn't feel that good, and it's slow, and it's just a hodgepodge of a lack of focus throughout, that's when things start going awry. I think we'll hit all of our goals," said Stratton.
"Doom 4" or just "DOOM" is expected to be released this 2016 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
