Almost after 10 years, the "High School Musical" cast finally had a reunion but missing in action were leads Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron.
On Friday night last week, the cast of "High School Musical" had a mini reunion for the premier of Kenny Ortega's new Disney Channel movie, "Descendants." According to a report by Cosmopolitan, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel and Oleysa Rulin were all in attendance. However, fans missed out on lead casts Vanessa and Zac.
Vanessa was not able to come to the premier because she was busy shooting a beauty campaign and Zac was absent because he was filming a movie. In an article by Metro UK, Ashely posted a picture of the group using her Instagram with a caption that reads, "All of us supporting the guy that changed our lives. So proud of @kennyortegablog on this big night."
"Tonight was indescribable! I don't have enough words to describe how amazing #Descendants was or how proud we all are of @kennyortegablogand the incredible cast!! #KennyOrtega is a visionary & he captured pure magic on the screen! I'm so grateful I got to share tonight with my framily! #wildcatreunion #HSM," Monique Coleman captioned on her post.
The first ever "High School Musical" movie hit theaters back in 2006. The second and third installment sof the film followed in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
For fans who are hoping for the gang to be back together, there are rumors that there will be a fourth installment of the film franchise. Zac also reportedly dropped the biggest hint last year in March during an interview. The young actor, who played Troy Bolton in the musical, was asked for a possible fourth film.
"We're all thinking about it. I continue to see all the guys from High School. Every time we do there's just this look between us," Zac said. "It's so cool because we never forget a single moment of that experience. [As soon as I see them] it brings you right back to those days."
However, a fourth movie might be slightly awkward for Zac and Vanessa. The two played the roles of on-screen lovers as well as real life couple but broke up back in 2010 after dating for three years. Zac has dated a few times in the years after their split, while Vanessa has been with long-time boyfriend and "Carrie Diaries" star Austin Butler.
