"American Horror Story" alum Lily Rabe is set to return to the FX anthology for another around -- this time, she will be causing ruckus as a serial killer in Season 5, titled "Hotel," Entertainment Weekly reported.
Rabe has starred in the first three seasons and made a small cameo during the fourth season, "Freak Show," playing her "Asylum" character Sister Mary Eunice. After being a nun, a grieving mother and a Stevie Nicks-obsessed witch, she will reportedly portray a brand new character for the upcoming season.
Although there is no specification whether the actress will be playing a real-life serial killer or a famous fictional murderer, "AHS" fans have already begun to speculate that she may be portraying the former.
With that being said, a Reddit user (TheStarDecent) guessed that Rabe might take on the role of Lavina Fisher, the first American female serial killer.
Lavina and husband John Fisher ran a hotel in South Carolina in the 19th century, and a number of guests were reported missing to the local sheriff's office. A lack of evidence allowed them to continue poisoning and robbing their guests. Eventually, they were discovered and executed by hanging.
TheStarDecent also theorized that Rabe's comeback could signal the return of her Season 1 character, Nora Montgomery.
In the "Murder House" episode, Nora and her husband move to Los Angeles during the roaring '20s. Although the era of "Hotel" has yet to be confirmed, some fans have leaked photos hinting that it may take place from the 1920s or 1930s.
In addition, co-creator Ryan Murphy's assistant, Sarah Stelwagen, recently took to her Instagram account to post a photo of what appears to be the "American Horror Story: Hotel" director's chair. The image also contains what may be a 1920s-era art deco.
"American Horror Story: Hotel" premieres in October on FX.
