A few stars recently talked about a couple of mutants who will be making a comeback in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” Quicksilver will reportedly have a bigger role in the upcoming movie.
“Well, yeah, it’s always difficult to try to top something like that. The special effects guys, man, they absolutely nailed that and did a fantastic job on it,” Quicksilver actor Evan Peters told MTV News about his scene from “X-Men: Days of Future Past”.
IGN reported that Peters will be reprising his role as the super-fast mutant in the new film “X-Men: Apocalypse.” He said that they are currently working on “something that’s bigger and better.” They will keep the elements that worked in the past and add new ones too. He shared his excitement on how all the elements will work together. Peters said that the scope is going to be massive and that “Apocalypse” will be a very large and epic “X-Men” film.
Jennifer Lawrence also shared her insights on the upcoming film. Entertainment Weekly reported that “Apocalypse” might be the final movie where the actress will take on the role of the shapeshifter Mystique.
Lawrence said that she loves working with Bryan Singer and how much she loves the “X-Men” franchise. She is contemplating on leaving because of the toxins and fumes that she had to be in contact with to appear as Mystique. When she first played the role in “X-Men: First Class” at 20 years old, Lawrence said that the health concerns were not as significant as these are now that she is 25.
“There is hope. I don’t want to not be asked,” Lawrence said when asked whether she would still play Mystique after “Apocalypse”.
Actress Olivia Munn also promised Entertainment Weekly that her character, Psylocke, will be very sexual, as highly anticipated by comic book fans.
“Psylocke’s outfit or uniform or suit or whatever you want to call it is very sexual. I’ve got like my thigh-highs and a halter, but the thing about that, and that was important, is that it doesn’t matter what I’m wearing as long as we’re all aware of who she is. She’s very strong and she’s very lethal and she’s very powerful, and it doesn’t really matter what she’s wearing as long as you have that strength and that presence,” Munn said.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” will launch on May 27, 2016. The movie will feature Jennifer Lawrence, Rose Byrne, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Oscar Isaac, Sophie Turner and Olivia Munn.
