The pilot episode for CBS' newest super-powered comic book character was leaked on May 2015. With so many well-known characters already in the line-up, one would think enough is enough for the "Supergirl" series.
Apparently, the show does not know the word "enough" as they are adding a few more to the list. Who's complaining when Lucy Lane will be a recurring character to the series? Cinema Blend reports that trouble might be brewing once this new female character surfaces.
Lucy, Lois Lane's sister, first appeared in the 1959 comics as a stewardess who happens to be Jimmy Olsen's on and off love interest. She later appeared in the 1989 comics as an air traffic controller. In other depictions of the comics, Lucy Lane appeared as Superwoman and as a villain. Later on, she was killed by Supergirl.
In the New 52 comics, Lucy's Superwoman role was removed.
With her addition to the television series, fans are to expect a love triangle between Kara, Jimmy and Lucy. There are even some speculations that Lucy Lane become Supwerwoman. As to how the show will progress, the character remains an unknown variable as there is still no one to play as Lucy Lane.
With new characters on the topic, TV line reported earlier that Maxwell Lord will be played by Peter Facinelli from "Nurse Jackie" and "Twilight."
This should provide fans and viewers with enough interest as Maxwell Lord is one of the biggest names when it comes to becoming a villain in the DC comic universe.
We go back to Lucy Lane as she stirs up some trouble for the girl of steel. Cinema Blend further added in their report that other than being involved in a love triangle, Lucy Lane's role might be of the villainous type. She might assist her dad in the anti-New Kryptonian plan and become Superwoman. Great, another super powered bad guy (or girl)!
This is not the first time Lucy Lane showed up in the small screen. Her latest appearance was portrayed by Peyton List in the hit television series, "Smallville."
As for the cast, Melissa Benoist will still play Kara Zor-el, aka Supergirl. Mehcad Brooks will still return for his James Olsen role.
The month of October will be empowering for women all over the world as CBS' "Supergirl" will premiere on the 26th of that month. Ladies, get your cape and suit washed and pressed, and prepare to fly and save the world!
