It's been almost 15 years since we last saw Lucy Lawless don the famous armor and chakra weapon of "Xena: Warrior Princess." In a recent panel discussion for her new show, "Ash vs. Evil Dead," the actress said that she would love to bring back the warrior princess.

According to New Zealand Herald, Lawless stated that she has been pitching the idea for a while now and would love to see the character back on the screen for another successful run. However, Lawless also states that she would not want to be in the lead role if ever Xena would return.

Comic Book claims that Lawless wouldn't want to be the warrior princess. However, she wants to be involved in the process somehow. Lawless says that she would want to reinvigorate the character, claiming that playing Xena would be too physically stressful for someone her age.

When asked about how she would go about bringing back Xena, considering the character was killed off at the end of the last season of the show, Lawless simply says that everyone dies. She points out that it's not the fact the she dies that is important but how the writers decide to bring her back to life. Lawless also would love to bring back the crew from the original show. Working with Renee O'Connor, Ted Raimi and Bruce Campbell would be something to look forward to, according to Lawless.

With regard the ideas on how the series, or movie would play out, the Kiwi actress even had several ideas. One idea would be a kind of adventure comedy of sorts. Picture an older Xena 30 years removed from the series who is still trying to have adventures while experiencing a hard time putting on the armor or even throwing her weapons. Another way to bring back the character, Lawless claims, would be a spinoff. The show would mainly focus on a descendant of Xena and Lawless' character would only really have to appear in flashbacks or dreams. According to Lawless, the possibilities are endless.

Currently, it would be difficult for a Xena reboot or spinoff as it is not entirely clear on who actually owns the rights to the TV show. Such issue has been the source of conflict for several years, and no real movement can be made until that is cleared up.

Lawless has recently starred in the Starz hit series, "Spartacus: Blood and Sand," "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena" and "Spartacus:Vengence."
