There were leaked information and rumours about the release of Motorola's third generation Moto G smartphone earlier this year.
Freshly leaked information from Brazil just arrived, as reported by Phone Arena, that the Moto G (2015) will be officially announced on July 28. GSM Arena also reported that the smartphone should be sold on the same day in Brazil and should make its way Chile by Augus. If that is the case, there might a slight possibility that the phone could reach the US market by July.
Revealed to the public on the 13th of November 2013, the first generation Moto G made its way to the market. The Moto G was the best-selling smartphone Motorala Mobility ever developed and was the top selling phone in Mexico and Brazil.
When it comes to specifications, the Moto G's screen is 5 inches with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. The phone itself is intriguing as the third generation Moto G will be eligible for the MotoMaker customization service. This means that the smartphone can be customized by the consumer beforehe or she orders it from Motorola. Its chipset is a Qualcomm MSM8936 Snapdragon 610 with a Quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 as a central processing unit. The Moto G's (2015) graphics processing unit is an Adreno 405, has a microSD card slot that can be upgraded up to 128 GB and can hold a micro-SIM.
The Moto G's internal memory can either come with 8 GB or 16 GB with a 2 GB RAM. The phone's rear camera has 13 megapixels, 5 megapixel front camera and features geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama view. The video has a 1080 pixel at 30 frames per second. The smartphones battery is said to be a 2470 mAh.
There are speculations that the new Moto G will not only be splash proof like the previous models, but will be water proof for about one meter and for about 30 minutes. This new feature is all due to the IPx7 certification.
The price is of the new Moto G is still debatable, though some speculate that it will be priced at $179 dollars just like the previous generations. GSM Arena stated that the third-generation Moto G will be sold at BRL 899. Using the exchange rate of the day, the smartphone is roughly around 287USD or €261.
