Up until now, most of the news revolving around the upcoming Star Wars  film has been pure speculation. But it now seems that the first bit of concrete information has come in.

According to IGN and Deadline, the next Star Wars film has its screenwriter: Michael Arndt. Deadline reports that Arndt has already written a treatment for the next three Star Wars films.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the story and added that before the deal between George Lucas and Disney was made, Arndt was hired to write a 40 to 50 page treatment on the upcoming film. IGN reports that Han, Leia, and Luke will actually be in the next film.

Arndt has a tremendous track recorded has has penned Toy Story 3, Little Miss Sunshine, and the upcoming Hunger Games: Catching Fire. He won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar for Little Miss Sunshine.

The choice of Arndt is not only logical for his track record but because he is also a Star Wars expert. According to Vulture, he has lectured extensively over the years at such places as the Hawaii Writers Conference in Maui and the Austin Film Festival. During each of these lectures he always features a lengthy description on the original Star Wars.

IGN's report also states that the script will be shown to top directors like Steven Spielberg, Brad Bird, and JJ Abrams in hopes of luring one of them to take on the franchise.

The Star Wars franchise was sold last week to Disney for $4 Billion and the company immediately announced that they would be releasing a film in 2015.
