For 18 long years, fans have been waiting for something new to happen. We asked, and we received. There is a significant amount of spoilers, so readers be warned.
Earlier this month, the first episode of "Dragon Ball Super" was released and the fans loved it! The story is set six months after the end of the Majin Boo arc. In a typical first episode fashion, it showed old characters doing what they do besides fighting bad guys or training. Goku did some actual work, Trunks and Goten were off to their little adventures and the likes. Finally, an introduction to a new character named Beerus. Whether he is he a friend or a foe, we'll find out soon enough.
The animation itself was stunning and has a modern feel to it.
The second episode which was released in Japan last Sunday, featured a lighter side of the story. Attack of the Fanboy revealed that this episode showcased Vegeta and his family going out on a vacation. The first thing they do is visit a mall and got Trunks some new clothes. It's funny to watch Vegeta zoning out and not really batting an eye.
As all fans know, Saiyans love to eat. This was the only time we see Vegeta have some sort of fun while on their family vacation. This stopped when an octopus landed on Vegeta and squirted ink on him. Bulma and Trunks needs to act fast before Vegeta gets too angry.
The family then proceeded to watch a concert with fire dancers and such. As expected, Vegeta was not impressed and basically got annoyed by the crowed pushing him all over the place. What really blew his cap was when the man on the stage called him an "old man". Vegeta powered up to break from the crowd, went back home started to train.
The rest of the episode focused on Beerus as he was talking to Whis, who seems to be his butler, and asked to find a suitable challenger. They found an alien planet, and on it, a creature with four arms and four eyes. The creature looked menacing but was no match for Beerus. He then destroyed the planet, which caused Elder Kai to get scared as he was talking to Kobito Kai. Beerus then talked about a "Super Saiyan God" and that he wants to fight him.
Franchise Herald gives us an idea about the coming three episodes. "Look for the Super Saiyan God" is the title for episode 3. This might focus on Goku's discovery of the legendary being called "Super Saiyan God". Episode four "Mission Dragonballs! Pilaf Gang's Big Plan!" might be considered as a filler episode due to the fact that the Pilaf Gang is almost zero on the threat scale. However, episode 5 might be exciting due to the fact the title is "Goku vs Destruction God Beerus" and might finally see some much awaited fighting scenes.
No English dubbed version is released for "Dragon Ball Super" as of now.
