Good news for "Star Citizen" fans and backers as Cloud Imperium games clarified all of the issues regarding the release date of some of the modules of the game.
"Star Citizen" has been one of the most hyped PC games ever when it promised to be one of the most technical and impressive PC game of all time. People believed in the vision of Cloud Imperium games as they backed "Star Citizen" on Kickstarter, giving the devs almost $85 million on funding.
But now, backers are getting worried that Cloud Imperium games may not deliver on their promise after they announced that the promised FPS module of "Star Citizen" has been delayed indefinitely which caused some fear into the backers' eyes as they fear that the FPS module is going to be cancelled.
However, Andy Chalk of PC Gamer has reported that Cloud Imperium released a series of statements that should alleviate some of the fears of the backers of "Star Citizen" about the release date of some of the modules of the game.
Cloud Imperium games noted that while the FPS module of "Star Citizen" called "Star Marine" has been delayed indefinitely, this doesn't mean that it has been cancelled.
"'Delayed indefinitely' is a games industry PR term for 'cancelled.' Anyone (and apparently this is a great many people) reading clickbait headlines will believe we've canceled Star Marine. This is not the case, to the point that it implies the absolute opposite of what's actually happening," said Ben Lesnik of Cloud Imperium Games.
Lesnik noted that "Star Marine" was simply not ready for launch, "the short story is that Star Marine was not ready for launch when we had hoped (and planned)."
However Lesnik noted that the while the FPS module was delayed indefinitely, he gave a time frame of "weeks and not months/years/decades," when it comes to release date of module, hinting that it could be released soon.
Meanwhile, William Usher of Cinema Blend has reported that Cloud Imperium Games is still working on other modules of the game aside from the FPS module, "Star Marine".
As was noted on the report, Cloud Imperium Games is hard at work in tweaking the FPS, Multiplayer Matchmaking and the Pilot modules so that they could be blended together and they could finally start working on the persistent universe module and finally release the game.
But as was noted on the report, Cloud Imperium Games would have to optimize the game even further so that it would get decent fps from a variety of different PC specifications.
