Today, November 8, is a big day for Grand Theft Auto 5 fans. Game Informer will be digitally releasing their massive 18-page reveal later today, which should tell us more about the game than Rockstar has in the past year. Right now, however, it looks like Grand Theft Auto 5's main character and a special return cameo has been revealed.
The magazine Shortlist describes the main character in Grand Theft Auto 5 as an "East Coast gangster" leaves to the West Coast to leave his old life behind, but ends up getting sucked back in, according to Videogamer.
Shortlist also released a new screenshot of the game in which the lead character (who looks like the same one in previous Rockstar-released screenshots) is on a Los Santos Beach Lifeguard jetski. In classic Grand Theft Auto style, the main character is facing backwards aiming an Uzi at an unseen enemy.
Grand Theft Auto 5 takes place in Los Santos, a fictional Los Angeles that was also one of the cities in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Given the same locale, it seems that Rockstar has decided to throw a familiar face in.
In an interview with Studio 96, rapper The Game revealed that he had done some with work with Rockstar regarding Grand Theft Auto on the character B Dup, a character from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Rockstar recently announced that a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5 would be releasing next week, on November 14. Pre-orders for the game have already begun, and pre-ordering the game through Rockstar can get you a free t-shirt. The game releases Spring 2013.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is sure to be one of the biggest games of 2013, with EEDR analyst Jesse Divinch telling NowGamer that he predicts that no matter when the game releases, Rockstar should see sales of over 25 million in the first year.
