"Ant-Man" is one franchise Marvel is sure that will sell and talks are already on going about a potential "Ant-Man 2".
With Marvel already making inserting sequels in their planned Cinematic Universe movie line-up, such as "Guardians of the Galaxy" volume 2 and Spider-Man, it would not be a stretch to see "Ant-Man 2" to be included in the line-up but of course, Marvel has to actually keep pace with all the franchises they are handling.
According to Cinema Blend, Kevin Feige has admitted that Marvel is having a problem with having too many movies to handle in their Marvel Cinematic Universe especially the third phase of the MCU as it deals with the "Avengers Infinity War", "Black Panther", "Inhumans", "Captain Marvel", "Spider-Man", "Thor 3" and a bunch of other MCU films. He notes that it will be hard for them to produce quality movies with the number of films they have on their slate.
In an interview with io9, Feige also had this to say with regards to "Ant-Man 2" and when fans could possibly see it:
"The answer is I don't really know. We're entering territory that's an incredible problem to have, which is too many franchises to navigate. That's a very very high class problem, and if we're faced with that high class problem, we will try to figure out a solution in a way that allows us to produce the movies in the way we have," said Feige.
However, fans can be optimistic about "Ant-Man 2" as director Payton Reed has admitted that he is very open to doing "Ant-Man 2".
According to Variety, Reed has admitted that he would love to do "Ant-Man 2" should Marvel decide to green-light the film.
"If we're fortunate enough to do another 'Ant-Man' movie, I would love to do it," he said.
Evangeline Lilly may have also spilled the beans that while the "Ant-Man 2" movie may not be in fully confirmed yet, their contracts state that they have signed on to do three Marvel films.
"All I know is that I had to sign up for three films, as does anybody. And I hope they use me for two more," said Lilly.
It should be noted that Paul Rudd's Scott Lang aka Ant-Man would show up again in "Captain America: Civil War" as he is set to pick sides between Captain America and Tony Stark.
"Ant-Man" would premiere in theatres this July around the world.
