Good news for die-hard "Pokemon" fans as the Pokemon Company has confirmed that "Pokemon Shuffle" is heading to iOS and Android.

While this isn't the much awaited iOS and Android port of past "Pokemon" games such as "Pokemon Fire Red", "Pokemon Soul Silver", "Pokemon White" and "Pokemon X & Y", this is the next best thing for "Pokemon" fans who want to game on their mobile devices.

According to Angela Moscaritolo of PC Magazine, the Pokemon Company has confirmed that "Pokemon Shuffle" is coming to iOS and Android with a release date set to be sometime this year.

The gameplay of "Pokemon Shuffle" is simple enough for those who have played Bejeweled Blitz.

"In Pokémon Shuffle Mobile, your goal is to clear various stages by lining up the same Pokémon and clearing these matches from the puzzle area, Within each puzzle stage, you can deal damage to the wild Pokémon you face by lining up three of the same Pokémon to clear them. Battle and try to catch the Pokémon before you run out of moves!," said the Pokemon Company.

Here are some of the gameplay videos of "Pokemon Shuffle" to see how it plays:

Meanwhile, Gamespot has reported that not only would "Pokemon Shuffle" be released this year, it is going to be free-to-play but it would have microtransactions.

"The game will launch later this year as a free-to-play title supported by microtransactions, just like the previously released Nintendo 3DS version," wrote Gamespot.

The Nintendo 3DS version of "Pokemon Shuffle" wasn't well received though as it garnered a lot of negative reviews on Metacritic as users and critics slammed the game for its microtransactions.

"Anything truly enjoyable about the game is ruined by the microtransactions," wrote Destructiod about the game on Metacritic.

While Metro Game Central stated that, "As match-three puzzlers go this is well above average, but the cynical microtransactions make it a horrible slog to actually play."

But some of the reviews aren't all bad as some users gave the game high scores when they praised the game for the actual gameplay noting that the game is very addictive but really fun.

"What can I say, this is a f2p game but does not force you to pay. One part that I like about this game is that you do not have to capture a Pokemon to continue to the next level. If you like Pokemon then you might like this if you like f2p games that don't make you pay to win," wrote one user on Metacritic.
