The "Batman V Superman" SDCC 2015 panel is filled with a lot of intrigue and hype as DC and Warner Bros. are expected to take Hall H by storm. And if the reports and rumors are to be believed then fans are in for a treat come SDCC.
According to a report by Chris Agar of Screen Rant, it has been rumored that the "Batman V Superman" SDCC 2015 panel would be home to the announcement of the upcoming "Green Lantern" film's cast, which is alleged to include not just Hal Jordan, but Guy Gardner and John Stewart as well.
"WB is expected to have a major presence at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, and it stands to reason that they will use that platform to introduce the masses to their new Green Lanterns - bringing the Justice League in full to Hall H," wrote Agar.
Meanwhile, Matt Goldberg of Collider has noted that while the "Green Lantern" film is still in early pre-production stages, it can be expected that DC could go all out with the cast, and may actually place two of the three human Green Lanterns in the film
"Keep in mind that the movie is still in early development and a lot of things can change, but we're hearing that the new Green Lantern movie will focus on more than one human Green Lantern," wrote Matt Goldberg.
It should be noted that according to Screen Rant, should the "Green Lantern" movie turn into a full on franchise, the sequels of the film would focus on different members of the Green Lantern corps.
Collider speculates that DC and Warner Bros. may use the "Green Lantern" movie to be the fantastical sci-fi movie franchise of the DC Cinematic Universe, and that they would use the Earth-based movies to use the grounded, gritty style they've been using for a while now.
"Man of Steel, the launching point for the DCCU takes place on an alien world for the first 20 minutes, so there's no reason that aspect can't return for future movies. Warner Bros. can leave the gritty realism back on Earth and go for something more sci-fi and fantastical if they go to other planets but they keep their serious approach intact," wrote Goldberg.
"Green Lantern" is slated to hit theaters on June 19, 2020, while "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to appear on cinemas on March 25, 2016.
