Chelsea avenged their 3-2 loss last weekend to Manchester United with a 5-4 win in the Capital One Cup.
But the John Terry-less Chelsea must find a way to improve their play (especially on the defensive side of the ball) if they are to extend their 1 point lead in the EPL over Man U and Man City. In 9 EPL matches, they have given up 9 goals, but 6 of those have come in the last four matches. They have not had a clean sheet in the last four matches and have lost a pair of titles (including one in the UCL). Offense has not been a problem for Chelsea with such talents as Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, and Oscar stepping up but the suspension of Fernando Torres could be difficult for Chelsea.
Fortunately they face a weak Swansea City club that only has 11 points in 9 matches and has only won three times. More importantly, they have won just once in their last seven matches after starting off with two clean sheet wins in weeks 1 and 2 of the season.Michu is a perennial threat, but aside from his 6 goals, Swansea only has 8 other goals in the nine matches. With 13 goals against and 2 clean sheets, defense is not a strong suit for Swansea either.
Prediction: Should be easy for Chelsea: 3-0.
