Manchester United is just one point behind Chelsea for first place in the Premier League and has a prime opportunity to place themselves there on Saturday.

Standing in their way is one of the top Premier League teams in Arsenal. This match will not only be important for the Gunners in terms of standings. They also have a few things to make amends for. Back in August 2011 they underwent an 8-2 drubbing at the Old Trafford. They also lost their top player Robin Van Persie to Man U last summer. Arsenal is still not on the same level as Man U as their play this season has been inconsistent. They won a wild 7-5 match in the Capital One Cup this week after an inefficient 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers. Prior to that, they imploded for a 2-0 loss to Schalke 04 in the UCL and lost 1-0 to Norwich City. Offense has been an issue all season and the squad currently sits in 6th place with just 15 points in 9 matches.

Man U is on the opposite side of the equation. They lost 5-4 to Chelsea in the Capital One Cup but have won their last three Premier league matches, including one over Chelsea. The Robin Van Persie investment is paying off in spades as the striker has scored nine goals in all competitions for Man U and has added 3 assists. Wayne Rooney has gelled with him in the midfield and young Mexican striker Javier Hernandez seems to be coming into form after a slow start to the season.

Prediction: Man U is far deeper and in better form than Arsenal. Home field advantage will serve them well. 4-2 Man U.
