Hot Latina actress Jennifer Lopez will be back on television but this time not as an "American Idol" judge. JLo will be part of NBC's new cop drama, "Shades of Blue."
Last week, it was revealed that Lopez will take on the role of a female cop in the upcoming TV series. Aside from judging "American Idol" and her stints in other shows like "How I Met Your Mother" and "Will & Grace," Lopez hasn't acted on TV since "Hotel Malibu."
According to Huffington Post, Lopez will star as Detective Harlee Santos. She plays a single mother whose deep love for her child keeps her firm in her chosen career. Alongside Lopez will be Ray Liotta and Drea De Matteo.
The series will have 13 episodes for its first season. The story will revolve around detectives who are trying to keep their city safe. Lopez becomes one of the producers of the TV series alongside Ryan Seacrest.
"Lopez will star as Det. Harlee McCord, a single mother recruited to work undercover for the FBI's anti-corruption task force. When McCord is forced to become a federal informant, she must decide between her own family's welfare and that of her police family," Variety magazine described what Jennifer's character will be like.
Although a television warm welcome is to be expected for Lopez, some of her Islamist fans in Morroco feel differently. Many were left in shock with Jennifer's "suggestive" performance during their festival.
Even though the 45-year-old made a couple of alterations so her concert would be a little discreet, most still find her usually sexually charged performance as "unacceptable" and "against the law."
Mustafa Al-Khalfi, the Communications Minister, called out Jennifer's performance at the Mawazine music festival I Rabat. There were around 160,000 in attendance to witness Lopez open the festival over the weekend. However, the singer drew a lot of criticism for being scantily dressed.
Meanwhile, Lopez seems unaffected with all the accusations and drama. The Latina singer/actress was just recently pictured hand-in-hand with Casper Smart. The two were spotted on work location of the "Shades of Blue" series in Brooklyn, New York.
Rumors are that the two are back in each other's arms but when asked by Elllen Degeneres whether she is single or not, Lopez replied "I'm kind of not, but I kind of am."
