The photo, with the caption "6.9.15 #MockingjayPart2 #Unite," features Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen kneeling with her signature bow and arrow, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne and other fellow rebels of Panem, Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair and Evan Ross as Messalla -- dressed all in black with clutched weapons and expressions ready to battle.
The picture surfaced two days after Jennifer Lawrence released via Twitter the latest propaganda-style of "The Hunger Games" showing the beheaded statue of President Snow, who is the leader of Capitol. It offers an additional sneak peek of what will come in the final series as the movie opens in cinemas on Nov. 20, 2015.
With a plot summary picking up where "Mockingjay - Part 1" left, we can expect Katniss Everdeen and District 13 to confront President Snow in one epic battle between the rebels and the elites of the Capitol. The official synopsis of the film from Liongate's press release reads;
"With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends...Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games."
Hollywood Reporter reports that "The Hunger Games" is the only film in the series to be released globally in 3D format in IMAX 3D theaters.
Francis Lawrence, the director of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire", returned to the director's chair for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2", as noted by People.com.
