Iron Man 3 is just months away from release, and Marvel producer Kevin Feige has opened up on the legendary Ben Kingsley's performance in the film, according to an IGN report.

In an interview with Total Film, Feige states: "On his last take of the first full day as the Mandarin, when they yelled 'Cut!' the entire crew burst into applause, spearheaded by Mr. Downey himself. It was pretty amazing to see that. That's what you get when you hire Sir Ben Kingsley. He's so excited about his part and so into this character, and frankly just scaring the heck out of everyone. They're like, 'You've broken us out of our skeptical malaise!'"

Marvel recently released a trailer for the film which depicts a darker tone than Tony Stark's past adventures.

Iron Man 3's official synopsis follows: "Marvel Studios' Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?"

The third entry in the series is directed by Shane Black and stars Robert Downey Jr. Guy Pearce, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, and Ben Kingsley

Iron Man 3 releases in theaters on May 3, 2013.
