In the early beta version, many critics noted that Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale was very similar to Nintendo's rival franchise Super Smash Bros. It seems that the gameplay mechanics will not be the only similarities between the two as other presentation elements such as a Final Boss will also be a part of Sony's brawler.

Rumors from Stickskills.com indicate that there is one of two final bosses at the end of the title. The same way Smash Bros had Master Hand as its final boss, Playstation could have one of two final bosses: Polygon man or Negativitron. Polygon Man was a former mascot that promoted the original PlayStation brand. He is just a pink head with spikes and his disembodied body par makes him similar to Master Hand and thus an ideal final boss.

Negativitron is the final boss from Little Big Planet 2 and he is also a disembodied head that would also match up well. Since he is more current he could potentially be the better option though like Nintendo, Sony may opt for a more retro villain. According to Stickskills, Playstation Lifestyle has revealed the music playing during the final battle as well as a clip of the final boss. They also remarked that the boss would be well known to fans.

The game is slated for a November 20 release on both the PS 3 and PS Vita. Anyone who purchases the PS3 version will also receive a free download voucher for the Vita Version. Initial reviews for the beta version have been mixed with complaints revolving around not being able to easily identify players' characters and balance issues between the characters.
