New characters will be joining the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy 2."
Last month, io9.com reported that director James Gunn has already submitted his story treatment. Gunn also said that the script for the movie is "very, very far along" at 70 pages.
Now, Gunn has again divulged some information about the upcoming film. According to Screen Rant, the director revealed that he would want two female Guardians in the second movie. Gunn also "hinted that someone familiar may join the team."
Screen Rant bets that if it isn't an Avenger, it might then be Yondu, played by Michael Rooker. Add Kraglin, played by Sean Gunn, to that. Gunn has admitted that the process for casting has already started.
Cinema Blend has listed seven characters fans should expect to see in the upcoming movie. First on the list is Jack Flag According to the report, Jack joined the team when the Guardians assisted in his revolt against Blastaar.
Second on the list is Death. Death would never be a Guardian. "Instead, she could appear to provide more development on the overarching villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Thanos. Why her? Well, in the comics, the reason Thanos wants to collect the Infinity Gems and destroy all life in the universe just to show his affection for Death," Cinema Blend's Adam Holmes said. It is still unknown whether Thanos will be in the sequel.
Third is Mantis. As a child, she was trained with several martial arts and she later became a superhero. She became the Guardians' counselor at their Knowhere station. Although she had left them, she remains helpful to them on some missions.
Fourth, it might be Bug. Although he is not that prominent compared with the other Guardians, Bug has helped them on several occasions like the "War of Kings."
Next would be Moondragon. Moondragon was taken by Thanos from Earth. She was trained to be an assassin. She later escaped and went on a mission to destroy the evil. She would then join the Guardians.
Another character being eyed is Phyla-Vell who possesses skills like super strength, flight and energy projection, making her very useful to the team. She is also known as an offspring of Marvel's first Captain Marv-Vell.
Last would be Adam Warlock. Cinema Blend says he will also be useful to the team and adding him to the cast would be a good idea to introduce him and his role in the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War" movies.
What do you think of Cinema Blend's list? Should these characters be included in the upcoming movie?
